Law Enforcement Support Service of Texas Announces

Plans for Regional Training Center and Milam County Sheriff’s Office Substation in Milano

Milano, TX – January 8, 2025 – The Law Enforcement Support Service of Texas (LESSTX) is proud to announce plans for the leasing of the former Milano Elementary School, located at 400 Park St, Milano, TX 76556, to develop a Regional Law Enforcement Training Center and a substation for the Milam County Sheriff's Office.

This initiative aims to enhance law enforcement readiness and strengthen public safety efforts throughout Milam County and the surrounding areas. The LESSTX Regional Training Center will provide specialized law enforcement training programs, advanced tactical instruction, and professional development opportunities for officers.

Additionally, the establishment of a Milam County Sheriff's Office Substation at this location will improve response times, expand law enforcement presence, and increase community engagement in the region.

“This facility represents a significant step forward in ensuring our law enforcement officers receive top-tier training while also improving accessibility to law enforcement resources in Milam County,” said Kevin G. Reams, President of the Board of Directors at LESSTX. “We are committed to providing the necessary tools and training to keep our communities safe.”

The former Milano Elementary School, with its existing infrastructure, provides an ideal setting for a training center. LESSTX plans to renovate and repurpose the facility to accommodate classrooms, tactical training areas, and essential law enforcement resources.

Community Support & Donations Needed

To bring this vision to life, LESSTX is seeking support from the community through donations and sponsorships. Contributions will help fund renovations, equipment, and operational costs for the training center and substation. This is an opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to invest in public safety and the professional development of law enforcement officers who serve Milam County and beyond.

“We cannot do this alone—we need the community’s support to make this project a success,” Reams emphasized. “Your donations will directly contribute to improving law enforcement training, safety, and community policing efforts.”

How to Donate or Get Involved

Individuals and businesses interested in supporting the LESSTX Regional Law Enforcement Training Center can contribute by making a donation or partnering as sponsors. Every dollar makes a difference in enhancing training, safety, and law enforcement services.
